With summer fast approaching, we’re all ready for a change of wardrobe and style to accommodate the ever-rising temperature. Thankfully, Alexa Ilacad has got us covered. On the fourth episode of POPSSSS, she gave viewers advice on summer dos and don’ts and OOTDs (outfits of the day), as well as taking (and editing) the perfect selfie.
Despite admitting that she’s “no Kim Kardashian” when it comes to selfies, Alexa gave some very helpful tips for taking great photos: make sure you have great lighting, elongate the neck, and don’t use flash! There’s no doubt that these tricks, along with others that she suggested during the show, will come in handy for taking photos on the beach alongside that great sunset.
When it comes to editing, Alexa has a pretty involved process for making her photos look just right. Taking cues from bloggers Tricia Gosingtian and Laureen Uy, Alexa uses a couple of apps to edit her photos; there’s Snapseed, VSCO, FaceTune, and Afterlight, each with their own unique features to use depending on what effect you want to achieve.
As for OOTDs, Alexa showed off some of her favorite outfits to wear for summer, including shirt dresses, crop tops, shorts, and shoes. Being the musician that she is, her outfits were geared more towards comfortable yet trendy pieces that are perfect for music festivals or for her performances on stage. The season calls out for breathable fabric, pops of color, and showing just a little bit of skin, but Alexa’s main and most important piece of advice was: be comfortable in whatever you wear!
Of course, Alexa also graced viewers with performances of her favorite songs like Paramore’s “Playing God,” Moonstar88’s “Migraine,” and Gracenote’s “Pause.”
