Katy Perry is set to join the panel of judges for American Idol as the singing competition is set to come back via ABC.
The news came after the "Thinking Of You" hitmaker's recent appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, wherein she gave the talk show host when it opened up about the latter.
"Idol is coming back," said Ellen. "Supposedly, you're going to be the first announcement that you're going to be a judge on the new American Idol."
Citing a Bible verse, Katy, who's sporting a new look, answered: "Judge not lest ye be judged."
"But, they didn't say anything about constructive criticism and I'm good at that," she continued.
Katy will sit alongside musicians who have had judging stints on the show, including Paula Abdul and Mariah Carey.
Meanwhile, aside from judging for Idol, Katy is set to release a new album next month.
"I started writing a record in June of last year. I wrote over 40 songs. Now I have 15 beautiful songs to represent this story I want to share with the world," she shared.
Titled Witness, the album will include her latest single "Bon Appetit."
