Pertaining to the ongoing conflict in Marawi, and how everyone else can help resolve it are wise words from the Filipino rock band Tanya Markova. “You don’t have to be in the war, to win the battle.” That’s exactly what the more than 30 OPM artists wish to achieve as they partake in a series of fundraising music gigs called “Jam for Peace.”
Presented by Jampack Music, the music gigs for a cause will be held at Historia Boutique Bar and Restaurant on August 16, Route 196 on August 31, B-Side on September 9, 12 Monkeys Music Hall and Pub on September 20, and 19 East on September 30. Price of admission for all venues will be Php300 inclusive of one drink, while the 19 East gig’s entrance fee will be Php400 that comes with one drink as well.
Among those who will perform in the said dates and venues will be the Itchyworms, Spongecola, Barbie Almalbis, Mayonnaise, Hale, Rocksteddy, Ben&Ben, Soapdish, Aia de Leon, Lunar Lights, Farewell Fair Weather, Absolute Play, Brisom, Bea Valero, Talata, Tanya Markova, Monolog, Sileph, Kiss Jane, Leanne & Narra, Sud, Jensen and the Flips, and a whole lot more.
Last August 9, some of the artists joining this special movement such as Barbie Almalbis, Ben&Ben, and Absolute Play previewed “Jam for Peace” by performing a couple of songs each.

The proceeds of the fundraising music gigs will go to Teach Peace, Build Peace Movement and Young Moro Professionals Network who will then provide the necessary aid to the people affected by the Marawi conflict.

It may seem that Karlos is out of place in One Music PH because he’s someone who can’t live without sports. Until of course, he realized that he is equally passionate with music as well. He may not admit it just yet, but Karlos loves Davie Bowie very much. Oh, and he runs a barbershop too.
