Refreshing doesn’t necessarily mean something new. Sometimes, seeing and hearing a brilliant creation by someone we’re familiar with does the trick. Last May 12, 2017, that’s exactly what happened when Filipino glam rock band Trinidad unveiled their latest music video for the song “Sientong Pag-ibig.” Held at Craft Rock & Grill in BGC with special guests Basti Artadi, Nicole Asensio and Princess Ybanez, the newest brainchild of the six-piece band is a most welcome spectacle.
Composed of JJ Lacson, Marc Lopez, Harold Lozada, Alvin Lacerna, Wilf Trinidad and Kim Lopez, Trinidad should be a familiar name to many Filipino rock fans. And with “Sientong Pag-ibig,” here comes a music video that can easily win the hearts of even the most casual of Filipino listeners who are not yet acquainted to Trinidad’s music.
Just to share a brief history lesson about Trinidad, the band was formed back in 2007, and they immediately became a prominent name in the local rock scene after conquering the 2008 edition of “Rockdigmaan.” With influences by Guns N’ Roses, Bon Jovi, Van Halen, Mr. Big, Steel Panther and Skid Row, Trinidad’s music was easily welcomed by Filipino rock fans with their chart-topping original song “Abnoy” years ago as proof.
Fast forward to today, we get “Sientong Pag-ibig” which incidentally serves as the celebration piece of Trinidad now that they’re nine years together as a band. And while it’s Trinidad’s way of thanking those who – using the words of the band – “continue to believe and love OPM music,” the must-watch music video of “Sientong Pag-ibig” is indicative of the fact that Filipino music is truly alive and kicking!

It may seem that Karlos is out of place in One Music PH because he’s someone who can’t live without sports. Until of course, he realized that he is equally passionate with music as well. He may not admit it just yet, but Karlos loves Davie Bowie very much. Oh, and he runs a barbershop too.
