Last night, popular on-screen pair Bailey May and Ylona Garcia guested on “Tonight on Boy Abunda” where they practiced their Filipino-speaking skills and talked about their upcoming Himig Handog performance.
Bailey revealed that it was his father, who recently appeared as a contestant on I Love OPM, who taught him to sing. “He’s the one who encouraged me to make a video which got me to where I am now,” he says. Sean Kingston’s Beautiful Girls was the first song he learned with his father.
Ever the King of Talk, Abunda asked the two to sing a line to dedicate to each other. Ylona sang Justin Bieber’s “The Feeling” while Bailey went with his own song “Gusto Kita” which was met with loud cheers by the audience.
The pair is interpreting “O Pag-ibig” by Honlani Rabe and Jack Rufo at the Himig Handog 2016 finals, which will be held on April 24. Their Tagalog skills might have a little bit more to go, but there’s no doubt these two can carry a tune. Who could forget their duet on PBB?
