For his latest solo release, Callalily frontman and O/C Records CEO Kean Cipriano delves on a blurry world of bittersweet encounters and missed opportunities in "Later When I’m Drunk," which is slated to be dropped on digital platforms on April 10, that offers a heavier sound that’s totally different from Callalily, which leans more towards the pop music.
This song and his first released material as a solo artist under O/C Records, "Eye Contact," carry similar themes, namely a chance encounter and a chance for romance set in a dimly lit bar but whereas the latter’s encounter is left open ended, the former goes on a sorrowful, drunken session on its unfortunate conclusion.
Speaking of drunken runs, this slow, trudging track delivers just that kind of experience for its love drunk listeners although it could ease up a bit on its smoothness and its ending was rather abrupt for a song that depicts a melancholic and unending night of beer bottles.
Check out "Later When I’m Drunk" on Spotify and YouTube this April 10 if you ever found yourselves frustrated on such dizzying encounters and inconclusive shots at romance.
