A source had recently gotten in touch with UK-based online magazine The Daily Star about Coldplay’s Chris Martin and company gearing up for a new “experimental” release by next month, with a more cohesive and serious album coming out sometime in 2020.
RUMOR: Coldplay are readying a sensational comeback with 2 new albums, one this year and the second one in 2020 which will be accompanied by a tour says music journalist @cabootylicious for the Daily Star. @dailystar - take with a pinch of salt (or maybe a huge dose, depends how you prefer) 🔗 bit.ly/35eLhrH #coldplay #chrismartin

The band’s latest release “A Head Full Of Dreams” was all the way back in 2015, with the subsequent tour ending in 2017.

Right now, however, Coldplay is on sabbatical, and according to Mat Whitecross—who directed the band’s “A Head Full Of Dreams” documentary—“they've been ruthlessly on holiday for a year.”
After such a long holiday, the purported experimental release next month is probably just what the boys need to get back in the rhythm of playing music again. However, the band has yet to confirm this information to be true, so in the meantime, we’re all in the dark, yet hopeful that Coldplay releases an album soon.
