They might have performed at In the Mix already, but we got the chance to talk to Twin Pines and Elle King a couple of hours before they took the stage! These two acts are the youngest and freshest of the concert’s line-up, but they couldn’t be more excited to show Filipino fans what they’ve got.
Elle King, for one, actually has Filipino blood (she’s the daughter of comedian Rob Schneider), is very excited to be visiting the land of her relatives for the very first time. “I know a lot about Filipino people, and they are some of the kindest and happiest and most wonderful people ever. That, I think, is the most exciting thing for me, to play for the audience and to meet some of the fans. I’m just really excited, so I hope people are excited to see me perform.”
Scottish band Twin Pines, on the other hand, feel that it’s “very surreal” that they’ll be able to perform on the other side of the country, especially after seeing the number of Filipino fans interacting with them over Twitter. While the young band actually has only one single out on Spotify for now, they shared that they’re currently working on an album and will fly back to London to track vocals and put on a couple more of finishing touches.
Full video of the interview with Elle King and Twin Pines will be up soon, so be sure to subscribe to onemusic.ph for more updates!
Writer/photographer/non-musician that hopes to promote local independent music. Probably hanging out at a gig at this very moment...
