Fans of Guns N’ Roses got ecstatic after MMI Live officially announced that they are bringing the iconic hard rock band’s Not In This Lifetime…Tour in the country on November 11, 2018 at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan.
The group, who’s behind the hits “Sweet Child O’ Mine”, “Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door”, and “Welcome to the Jungle”, is currently comprised by its classic line-up members vocalist Axl Rose, lead guitarist Slash, and bassist Duff McKagan, with keyboardist Dizzy Reed (1990), drummer Frank Ferrer (2006-present), and rhythm guitarist Richard Fortus (2002-present) joining them as fillers to the vacated positions.
In 2016, they recruited their first-ever female member Melissa Reese to replace Chris Pitman as the second keyboardist.
GNR has been on the road for the tour since April 2016, holding ‘warm-up’ gigs in United States and Mexico throughout that period. Their successful sold-out shows across the globe has raked in approximately $480 million as of December 2017, making them the fourth highest grossing concert tour of all-time next to U2, The Rolling Stones, and Coldplay.
Reportedly, the tour’s name “Not In This Lifetime” is a reference to Axl’s responses in a 2012 interview when he was asked regarding the possible reunion of the band.
The band was formed in 1985 and has been controversial because of their inconsistent line-up and of their “hedonistic rebelliousness”, earning them the title “The Most Dangerous Band in the World”. They released six albums throughout their music career and some of the members became Rock and Roll Hall of Famers in 2012.
Die-hard fans will get the chance to buy tickets on a pre-selling event on June 8; The official start of ticket selling on the major ticket networks is on June 9.
