Marco, One Music Popssss Alexa Ilacad and Boyband PH who will have a digital concert on One Music this May.
Here were the highlights of the night:
The opening performance
The night was opened by performances by Jona, Marlo Mortel, Sue Ramirez, Kristel Fulgar, Inigo Pascual, Kyle Echarri, Daryl Ong, Kiana Valenciano, who gave their own renditions of some of the night’s nominees.
Another big winner was Darren Espanto, who bagged both Favorite Artist and Favorite Male Artist, besting the likes of Sarah Geronimo, Alden Richards, Gloc-9, and James Reid in their respective categories.
The Cercado sisters showed that they have what it takes to make a girl group that stands up to the likes of Little Mix and Fifth Harmony. They performed their latest single, “Unleash the Diva,” and nailed those high notes and intense dance moves.
Rico Blanco wins Favorite Rock Video
While he wasn’t there to accept his award, the win marks a great birthday gift to the FILSCAP President.
Gloc-9 was one of the night’s biggest winners, having won two awards: Best Music Video (chosen by Myx) and Favorite Urban Video for “Hoy.” Beforehand, he showed off his rapping skills in an explosive performance of “Industriya” with KZ Tandingan.
MYX Magna Award: Vic del Rosario
“Boss Vic,” as he’s lovingly called by friends and colleagues alike, was honored as this year’s Myx Magna awardee for his immense contribution to the local music industry. Now the “big boss” of Viva Entertainment, he also founded Vicor Music Corporation in 1965 and was partly responsible for the successful careers of Sarah Geronimo, Sharon Cuneta, and Vina Morales among others. These artists sent their messages of thanks and congratulations through video, while Thyro and Yumi, Jinky Vidal, Jaya and last year's Myx Magna awardee Ogie Alcasid performed some of their most iconic songs.
