With five shows under their belt, 27-year old rock band Incubus isn’t a newcomer to the Philippines by any means. This Febuary 17th, Brandon Boyd, Mike Einziger, Chris Kilmore, Ben Kenney, and Jose Pasillas were once again welcomed to the Araneta Coliseum by adoring fans, both new and old alike.
Starting off strong with ‘Love in the Time of Surveillance,’ Incubus then went into crowd-pleaser ‘Warning,’ which all but guaranteed a sing-along from the crowd. After the crowd sang a short ‘happy birthday’ greeting for Brandon, who celebrated his birthday on the 15th, the recurring theme of mixing the old into the new.
Alongside classics like ‘Megalomaniac,’ ‘I Miss You,’ ‘Stellar,’ and Drive,’ the band incorporated tracks off of ‘8’ like ‘No Fun,’ ‘Loneliest,’ ‘Glitterbomb,’ and ‘Nimble Bastard.’ After an almost-immediate “we want more” from the crowd after their last song, the band ended the set with an Encore of ‘Quicksand’ and, aptly, ‘A Kiss to Send Us Off.’
