JMKO has just proven that he is the new 'Prince of Tiktok' with the success of his virtual concert "#JMKOSessions" last October 9. The concert, which was done in partnership with Tiktok and was also the official launch of his new single under Star Miusic, the Jay-R classic, "Bakit Pa Ba?" composed by Vehnee Saturno, was viewed by a staggering 103,000+ viewers across the globe.
JMKO started using Tiktok during the quarantine. Stranded at home and having not much to do, he started uploading content just to pass the time. He soon got the hang of how to use the platform to express himself musically as well as to entertain his fans, creating popcorn duets and other music content. The popcorn duets were so popular, hey have gained more than 146 million views, with fans from all over the world singing along with him.
Thus, not surprisingly, more than 103.6K viewers tuned in to the singer-songwriter’s exclusive digital treat. Still, JMKO is overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support: “I’m still pretty overwhelmed by the support from TikTok and Star Music considering it’s my first time doing a livestream. I’m glad I got to at least give back to my supporters on Tiktok through my performances,” said JMKO, who has 1.8 million followers and over 22 million likes on TikTok.
Meanwhile, JMKO's version of “Bakit Pa Ba” also received solid support from Spotify Philippines. He was featured as the cover of “Pinoy Covers,” an editorial playlist where his single placed number 1. The song was also featured in “New Music Friday” and “Pinoy Vibes” editorial playlists.
Asked about what’s next for him, he said, "Aside from being chosen to be one of the interpreters of Himig Handog 11th edition which I’m so excited about, I’d always be open for collaborations with fellow Pinoy artists and hopefully — even international singers especially the ones I met through Tiktok!"
His previous music releases include the emotional ballad “Aahon” and “Timeless” featuring Miss Universe Philippines 2019 Gazini Ganados.
