Not many people can get others to show up for a concert on a Monday night, but American singer-songwriter LAUV got thousands of fans trudge through the heavy rains and endure the heavy traffic just to fill up the Araneta Coliseum for his biggest headlining sold-out show last May 20.
The whole show was one big party, as everyone was on their feet, singing along from beginning to end. The welcome from his Filipino fans overwhelmed Lauv, who first came to the Philippines in 2017 to do a few mall shows in 2017, and then in Wanderland in 2018.
He remarked that “This is officially the biggest headline show I’ve ever played,” and kept telling his audience how much he loved them repeatedly.
Since it was such a special night for the singer, he gave his Pinoy fans a special preview of not one, but two of his yet-to-be released songs! The first titled "Sad Forever," which he finished just the night before while on the plane.
He admitted that he wrote the song when he was going through a rough spot. "I was feeling really, really sh*tty and really sad," he said.

The moment was so special that he played it TWICE so that his team could take footage to be included in the official music video! So if you were there that night, you could now have bragging rights and say that you made a cameo in Lauv's new MV. No biggie!
The second new song Lauv played was titled "Sims," which was inspired by the popular simulation game of the same name.
"Sims," is expected to come out in his upcoming album ~how i'm feeling~ , which will be released track by track. So stay tuned!
The 24-year-old made his fans fall in LAUV with him all over again as he sang hit after hit, new and old, and ended with one of his most popular songs, "I Like Me Better."
Lauv has truly come a long way from playing mall shows, and it was an honor to witness him play his first big show. Hopefully the next time he's in town, he'll be playing at a bigger venue. Fingers crossed!
