Everyone in theater knows the phrase “break a leg” is meant as good luck before the show, but one famous theater actress took things quite literally.
Tony award winner and Grammy nominee, Lea Salonga, got into a skiing accident during her holiday in Japan, breaking her leg in the process. She then took to social media to assure her fans that she is well and good, with the exception of having a new pair of crutches to bring around.
The singer addressed her followers saying, "Hey everybody, it’s Lea Salonga and I am making this video from beautiful Hokkaido in Japan where my family and I are having a really fun ski vacation," she said.
"Now, I’m making this video just to let you know that I’m gonna be taking a couple of extra items in my luggage, namely a pair of crutches. I broke my leg on a slope," And with high spirits despite her situation, she continues,“Clearly, I have not learned the art of stopping so I crashed pretty hard and I broke my tibia."
Alas, in showbiz the show must go on, and Lea Salonga is no exception to the rule. “This is just to let you know, I’m okay, I can sing, and I will see you in Hong Kong, in Singapore and the UK, sitting down more than I normally would.”
Lea was recently announced as a special guest during Josh Groban’s Bridges Tour Live in Manila, happening at the Mall Of Asia Arena on February 22, 2019.
