Comprises of Michael Pangilinan, Bryan Santos, Marlo Mortel, and Joseph Marco, Harana is definitely the hottest male group in the local music scene today.
Officially launched on March 2015, Harana has quickly made waves, not just because of their looks, but of their talents, throughout the year. After releasing their carrier single "Number One" via Star Music's "OPM Fresh," the group launched their self-titled debut album.
Also in the past year, Harana, for a couple of times, was chosen to sing movie theme songs for Star Cinema, the ABS-CBN's film outfit. The boys gave a new rendition to Motown's "Baby I Need Your Lovin'" as it was used as an official soundtrack (OST) of the movie "You're My Boss," starring Toni Gonzaga & Coco Martin. The song is also included in their album.
Harana also did a rendition of Ariel Rivera's "A Smile In Your Heart" for the movie "Just The Way You Are," starring Liza Soberano & Enrique Gil.
After a few appearances in big concerts, including being a frontliner at Boyzone's "BZ20 The Anniversary Tour Manila" held on May 2015 at the Araneta Coliseum and being a guest performer at Daniel Padilla's "Most Wanted" concert held a month after at the MOA Arena, Harana held their first major one on October 2015 at the Music Museum.
How was Harana formed?
According to Roxy Liquigan, Head of Star Music, it was Joseph and Bryan, who are really active in show business, that initially inspired the formation of the boy group.
"Last year kasi, may nakita akong video sa party ni Arjo Atayde. May video na sumasayaw si Bryan at si Joseph Marco na parang nagbo-boy band. So nagkaroon ako ng idea when we talked sa buong Star Music. Meron tayo Gimme 5, 'yung mga teeners. Ang wala sa industry natin 'yung boy band na mga gwapo at nakakakanta at parang suave lang, Mr. Suave lang dating sa atin," said Liquigan.
Marlo, who's also active in showbiz, joined the group as his talent in singing was discovered during the time of the hit series "Be Careful With My Heart."
Michael, on the other hand, was considered during the success of "Pare Mahal Mo Raw Ako," an entry to the Himig Handog P-Pop Love Songs 2014 composed by Joven Tan.
Though busy with their individual careers, Joseph, Bryan, Marlo, and Michael still manage to keep the group tight. Aside from singing, they bond through playing football and basketball.

James is everywhere. He is so busy, but he never fails to make time with friends. He loves all types of music. He loves food. He loves to travel too, if time permits. James is everywhere and what he sees is what you get.
