Another Wednesday means another serving of New For You! Here, we put a spotlight on new artists in the local music scene regardless of genre, platform, label, or popularity. So whether you’re into pop, funk, RnB, hip-hop, rock, or anything under the sun, we’ve got you covered!
It’s simple: you make music, we share it. ... Every other Wednesday.
Today is a bit on the random side, because we literally just put our playlist on shuffle for this. Either way, check out this week’s featured artists!
FTD, which stands for Flip the Don, is a Filipino rapper who is a part of the collective “Flow Minister,” alongside fellow hip-hop artists Because, LarkMester, and Ace Cicera. He has made himself known in the local hip-hop scene, often taking part in the Sunugan rap battles. When he’s not battling it out, he’s making pretty sweet tunes for us to enjoy.

This punk rock band from Imus, Cavite will take you back to your high school scene days. The five-piece—Teng Martin on vocals, Jun Masuoka on guitars, Da Geling also on guitars, Rex Azarraga on bass, and Tan Garcia on drums—remind us of childhood friends who sing through their experiences, making their music witty and relatable.

Another punk rock band on this list, Noisy Daisy was formed in 2016 by lead vocalist Dave Matthew Liwanag and bassist Mike Planta, joined by drummer Aleister Roque, rhythm guitarist Choy Calderon, and lead guitarist Nico Roque.
They were originally part of the local scene at the Black Kings Bar x Cafe in Quezon City, with the band's early releases being independently-produced. They debuted their very first “No Excuses EP” this year on Spotify, eventually earning them over 200 monthly listeners in the Philippines.
