“Potion" - Calvin Harris w/ Dua Lipa & Young Thug
Calvin Harris has made a career for himself out of the achievements from 2017’s Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1, to the point that you can’t fault him if ever he goes Vol. 2 for his next album. If first single “Potion” is any sign, Harris is most likely not looking to deviate from it. A twisting bassline, guitar freckles, and synthesizers slither like waves peaking on the beach sand, the spotless funk glimmering through. It’s all tough enough to hold a sexy Dua Lipa hook and sprightly bars from Young Thug —his second collab with Calvin after his attention-grabbing turn on Vol. 1’s “Heatstroke”. Purposely and musically, “Potion” is another summery and well-concocted track to populate key playlists, Tiktok memes and mall trips. Cliched or not, it’s difficult to argue when it sounds this great.
A beautiful dewy wedding song.
“Gotta Get Back” – P1Harmony feat. Pink Sweat$
Very smooth and exquisite grooves characterize this sweet love song.
“don't come back” - Tate McRae
Tate McRae diagrams the severe truths that we realize in our teenage years. An intoxicating flash of reminiscence and irony comes out as the 18-year-old samples the vocal hook from Nelly’s “Ride Wit Me”, released two years before she was born.
“Ikaw Ang” - Sam Concepcion, Yuridope, & Moophs feat. Yeng Constantino
A very dynamic and vibrant hip-hop love song brimming with life. When it arrives on a sped-up sample of "Ikaw" by Yeng Constantino, it feels like arriving on the finish line.
"Kamusta” – Shanti Dope & Flow G
An infectious and meticulously arranged song that tackles on mental health. Currently #2 Trending for Music on YouTube with over 1.1. million views in less than two days.
An anthem for the rich BGC kids.
“Laman ng Panaginip" - Sponge Cola
This 80's and 90's pop-rock influenced tune reveals the inconvenient truth about regret.
"'Di Papakalawakan" - Maris Racal
Maris Racal fully embraces the 80's-influenced aesthetic that's been seeping out of her previous singles in this slow down ballad.
Ylona Garcia’s appealing and affecting outlook flows in the fairy-like, flirty lyrics of "Vibin" as well as its dulcet and measured tempo, building a reassuring sonic embrace to process the tenuous portion of ceremonial pre-relationship jitters.
“Palagi” – Alexa Ilacad & KD Estrada
A tender, sparsely-arranged song of devotion.
