Noisy Daisy is a Filipino punk rock band formed in 2016 by lead vocalist Dave Matthew Liwanag and bassist Mike Planta. For much of the band's career, they had been a quintet with drummer Aleister Roque, rhythm guitarist Choy Calderon, and lead guitarist Nico Roque.
Noisy Daisy was originally part of the local scene at the Black Kings Bar x Cafe in Quezon City, with the band's early releases being independently-produced. In 2017, they won a Battle of the Bands at the Far Eastern University in Manila. Then, in 2019, they debuted their very first “No Excuses EP”, released independently through Spotify, eventually earning them over 200 monthly listeners in the Philippines.
Their songs have since been recognized by Underclass Heroes—a band from Switzerland, as well as Jodie And The Dark—a band based in London.
With the amount of praise they’ve been getting overseas, it’s surprising not a lot of people in the Philippines know them yet. Watch some of their performances here:
