They might have just started only around two months ago, but Manila Magic has already gotten people talking. Composed of Zild Benitez and Tim Marquez, who come from pop/rock bands One Click Straight and IV of Spades respectively, have somehow come together to form an 80’s inspired indie pop group that’ll definitely make you dance.
Check out their newly released video for “In the Night” below!
The video, as well as posts on their Facebook page, seems reminiscent of The 1975 (and countless other bands like them) especially with the latter’s current pink aesthetic and everyone’s seeming anger at vowels, but who really cares? As long as the band creates great music to groove along to, they’re fine by me. Aside from “In the Night,” Manila Magic has also released a live performance video of a new track aptly entitled “I Feel Like Dancing When I’m With You.”
The latter track is actually the band’s entry to Wanderband, a competition established by Wanderland Music and Arts Festival to give independent bands a chance to perform as part of the stellar line-up. This year’s festival will be held on March 4 at the Filinvest City Events Ground, and if you want to see Manila Magic perform, be sure to like their video on Wanderland’s Facebook page!
