Fukuoka Asian Picks Sept. 12-13 & Asean Music Showcase Festival Sept 19-20 with Cheats, August Wahh, and Uprising Records.
Eccentric electronica singer-songwriter Pikoy was recently selected by tastemakers The Rest Is Noise PH to represent the Philippines in two Japanese online music festivals happening in the next couple of weekends. The first is Fukuoka Asian Picks this September 12-13, 2020 alongside Daynim (Thailand), Mondo Gascaro (Indonesia), 雷擎 (Taiwan), Sandwich Fail (Taiwan), and The Perfect Me (Japan). The other one will be the ASEAN Music Showcase Festival this September 19-20 2020 where she will be representing the Philippines alongside fellow indie artists Cheats, August Wahh, and Uprising Records. The latter will also feature 16 artists from Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and Indonesia, one of whom is Valentina Ploy, who is part of the international inspirational collaboration “Heal”.
Pikoy (full name Nicole Pechon) is a young indie artist who has released a full-length album Acquired Taste (2016) and a mini-album Dwellers, Overthinkers (2019). She was one of the four new artists selected by The Rest Is Noise PH to be a Feature Artist on their All of the Noise 2019 Music Conference and Festival. She is currently under new indie label Eclectic Kiss. This year, she covered the classic “Toyang” for the recent Pop Machine Eraserheads Tribute compilation and released “Wants You Not”, her first single under Eclectic Kiss.
