The MOR Pinoy Music Awards have just wrapped up, but people are still buzzing about a touching moment that happened during Regine Velasquez-Alcasid's performance of her hit song "Dadalhin," as she stopped mid-song trying to hold back tears.
Asia's Songbird was just announced as this year's Lifetime Achievement Awardee prior, and was preceded by Jona Viray, Jay-R, Klarisse de Guzman, Katrina Velarde, Bugoy Drilon, Darryl Ong, and Michael Pangilinan singing some of her greatest hits. By the time it was her turn, the award-winning singer was extremely moved by their tribute.
During an interview backstage, the songstress talked about the touching moment saying she wasn't expecting to get emotional.
"The kids were singing my songs, and I was trying not to cry. Ang pangit tuloy ng kanta ko," she remarked.
Regine also shared that during her performance, she was taken back the beginning of her career and how she got to where she is now.
"It's a wonderful feeling, being recognized for what I love to do, which is singing," she concludes.
