In her first ever concert entitled “Super Janella” which happened through One Music PH’s Digital Concert Series, Janella Salvador showed everyone why she’s more than ripe enough to headline her own live concert. With the stage all to herself (and her loved ones), she conquered, and was nothing less than super! And in case you missed her digital concert, here’s the set list of Janella’s super magical show.
Right after opening the show with an upbeat cover of “24K Magic,” Janella followed it up with the beautiful rendition of “I Can.” Not many might’ve noticed it, but apart from the song being an appropriate choice to say that Janella is indeed capable and brilliant enough to hold her own concert, the transition from an upbeat to an emotional song is a testament to her versatility as a singer.
Of course, aside from being a milestone for Janella, the digital concert also served as a stage for celebrating her music. This was perfectly embodied by the album medley comprised of “Dear Heart,” “Harana,” “Ganyan Talaga,” and “Mahal Kita Pero” which the OPM Pop Sweetheart beautifully performed in the first half of her show.
One of the most heartwarming moments of the digital concert was when Janella was joined on stage by her mother Jenine Desiderio to perform a duet of “Iingatan Ka.” That moment was a special one indeed for the both of them, especially if you know that it was from Janella’s mom where the OPM Pop Sweetheart got her inclination to music.
Cold Summer Nights
Of course, “Super Janella” would not be complete without an appearance by one of the people who make Janella happy right now – Elmo Magalona. Together, they sang “Cold Summer Nights” which is a song by Elmo’s father, the late master rapper Francis Magalona. But apart from the all the “kilig” that the duet produced, it also revealed to us that Janella is one capable rapper!
As a result from an online poll, Janella had to perform the song “Bubbly.” While it was great that the audience had a hand in deciding what super Janella sang as one of her song numbers in the concert, it was highly enjoyable as well to witness her sing a song while playing the ukulele.
How Far I’ll Go
Janella couldn’t have performed a better finale song for her concert than “How Far I’ll Go.” Not only does the song represent her enormous potential as a singer and performer, but it was truly evident that Janella enjoys singing that song as she admitted after the concert. And judging by what transpired at “Super Janella,” she’ll definitely go a long way in the music industry because that’s just what super people do.
