Singer-songwriter Davey Langit is the newest addition to Star Music's roster of recording artists and music producers.
On Thursday, May 18, Langit signed a recording deal with the ABS-CBN music arm by the presence of its head Roxy Liquigan, audio content head Jonathan Manalo, manager Cathy Nazareno, and the ultimate singer-songwriter Ogie Alcasid who happens to be the president of the A-Team, a talent management company wherein Langit belongs.
"Now it has gone full circle," the 30-year-old artist said in an Instagram post. "Isang panibagong kabanata para sa batang taga Baguio na matigas ang ulo't hindi huminto."
Langit, who first rose to fame when he joined the first season of Pinoy Dream Academy back in 2006, along with JR Siaboc, Ronnie Liang, and the the first grand winner Yeng Constantino, is set to release an all-original album inspired by his life's journey.
Some tracks were even played during the contract signing and from there, everyone can imagine how Alcasid influenced him as an artist and as a songwriter.
"Sabi nga rin nila, magkamukha kami eh," said Langit in an interview. "Definitely, he's one of my biggest influences."
Over the years, he released several acoustic singles, including "Paratingin Mo Na Siya" in 2015.
Langit, in case you forgot, is last year's Himig Handog P-Pop Love Songs grand champion with his entry, "Dalawang Letra," interpreted by Itchyworms.
"That was a major milestone for me as an artist, as a songwriter," he said. "Himig Handog is such a huge competition."
