It’s only been a few hours since Keifer Sanchez, Francis Concepcion, and Mackie Empuerto successfully blew everyone’s minds at their very first headlining concert, “LISTEN: The Big Shot Concert” held at the Araneta Coliseum.
The trio that made waves on the international scene after their guesting in Gandang Gabi Vice looked right at home at the Big Dome; their voices the main focus above the roar of the crowd. They opened the event with an explosive rendition of “And I am Telling You I’m Not Going” by Jennifer Holiday, emerging from an impressive pyro show. With a scene-stealing entrance, the boys went straight into a Queen medley, nailing even the highest of notes.
They were later joined by their fellow contestants from Your Face Sounds Familiar Kids 2018 Chunsa Jung, Esang de Torres, Krystal Brimmer, Noel Comia Jr., Onyok Pineda, Sheena Belarmino, and Xia Vigor, each giving their best performances and delighting the crowd. But the cheers and applause got even louder as the boys came out in costume to perform their winning impression of “Bang Bang” by Jessie J., Ariana Grande, and Nicki Minaj.
Their performance was quickly followed by comedienne and Tawag Ng Tanghalan judge, K Brosas who also was dressed as Jessie J. Also there to support the TNT boys was their YFSFK mentor, Jed Madela, who shared the stage with them as they sang a medley of “Bridges” and “Bridge Over Troubled Water.” But the one of the biggest highlights of the evening was when the catalyst to their success as a group, Vice Ganda, came onstage, praising them and their talent. The It's Showtime host did a special performance of Donna Cruz' "I Can" with the boys--reiterating the advice that he had given them previously.
To end the night, Keifer, Francis, and Mackie sang one of their signature songs “Flashlight,” where the whole Big Dome accompanied them in a sea of lights. The amount of support from their fans overwhelmed the young stars, moving each of them to tears. But despite the high emotions, they were able to get through and deliver an outstanding performance of Beyonce’s “Listen.”
From beginning to end, the boys showcased their amazing talent—from their wide vocal range, slick dance moves, and natural comedic timing—with a setlist that let their individual strengths shine through, leaving the crowd in awe. Indeed, the future is bright and beautiful for the TNT Boys, and we can’t wait to see how much they grow in their career.
