As the global COVID-19 pandemic disrupts many industries around the world, even our favorite artists are starting to feel the pinch.
In an article published by ABS-CBN News, Vice Ganda, Pokwang, and Jessy Mendiola are among the growing number of artists looking to change careers amidst the global pandemic.
According to the article, Vice Ganda is poised to sign with Viva Entertainment to bring his brand of comedy online through viceganda.com and “Gabing Gabi Na Vice,” scheduled to launch by July 24. Viva claims that this will eventually become the online universe where all Vice’s fans can find him, whether through Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter.
Two other Kapamilya artists are also beginning their transition to a different network, namely Pokwang and Jessy Mendiola for TV5. For Mendiola, she will be headlining her very own health-oriented show, “Fit For Life,” while Pokwang will take on the role of co-host of “Fill In The Blanks” alongside Jose Manalo, as well as teaming up with Pauleen Luna for a morning show called “Rise and Shine,” also on TV5.
As ABS-CBN slowly begins shuttering its operations, more and more artists and employees are beginning to seek employment elsewhere, and TV5 has provided several opportunities for said Kapamilyas to stay afloar amidst the global pandemic.
