For her second release, singer-songwriter and looper Zsaris tackles about a struggle that a lot of us can definitely relate into. No, it’s not about love or some of that hugot material we’ve been bombarded for God knows how long. It’s something that’s equally hard and often painful: just trying to move forward with life.
Unlike her previously released single Paraan, Zsaris somewhat got to demonstrate in this song the one thing she’s really known for, which is her looping skills. Somewhat because while it began with some excellent use of beatboxing and looping techniques, it pretty much fades into almost nothingness just several seconds into the song, only returning at the very end for the final, few seconds.
But still, the song does not fall short in any other technical areas nonetheless, its mid paced beats complemented by instrumentation put in the right place just at the right time do make for a good, fighting spirit recharger song.
Speaking of fighting spirits, this is what the song is essentially about – fighting on despite several setbacks and an uncertain future while holding off the irresistible calls of the past to settle on one’s current or former humdrums.
Kahapon by Zsaris is now available on Spotify, YouTube, and other digital platforms if you want that push to go forward through life’s uncertainties and frustrations. Listen to it here:
